Altworth Inc., a C-Corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, USA, is our parent company and owns Altworth. It is a passive holding company: it does not trade with you, hold your items, handle your payments, or control your personal information.
2. Who you contract with
When you use Altworth, your contract is with ALTWORTH LTD and no one else. ALTWORTH LTD is the seller and the trader for the purposes of UK consumer law in every dealing you have with us, and it is the controller of your personal information.
Altworth Inc. is not a party to your contract and gives you no warranties. ALTWORTH LTD and Altworth Inc. are separate legal persons, and nothing here creates any agency, partnership, or guarantee between them. This means you always know who owes you the duties the law gives you, and where to send a notice or a claim: ALTWORTH LTD, at the registered office above.
Nothing in this structure limits or removes your statutory consumer rights, our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, our liability for fraud, or any other liability the law does not allow us to exclude.
3. Payments and your balance
Card payments and payouts are processed by Stripe, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We are not a bank, are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, and hold no electronic-money or payment-institution permission.
Your Altworth balance is store credit. It is not a bank account, a deposit, electronic money, or an investment; it does not earn interest; and it is not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
4. The collectibles game
When you open a pack you are buying physical collectible cards, with the chance of each card shown before you buy and verifiable through a published commitment. Every pack contains cards worth at least the price you pay. You are not entering a lottery and you are not placing a stake.
Cards are collectibles, not investments. Their value can go up or down, and nothing on Altworth is a promise of profit or a guaranteed return.
5. Custody of your items
When we hold your cards we hold them as custodian — in law, as a bailee — on your behalf. You remain the legal owner of your cards at all times, and they do not form part of our assets if we ever run into financial difficulty.
6. Data protection
ALTWORTH LTD is the sole controller of the personal information of the people who use Altworth. Altworth Inc. is not a controller. How we handle your data is set out in full in our Privacy Policy, and you can reach us about it at privacy@altworth.com.
7. Intellectual property
The Altworth name, marks, and the content of our site and app are protected by intellectual-property law and are owned within the Altworth group. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use Altworth in line with our terms, and reserve all other rights.
8. Governing law
Your relationship with ALTWORTH LTD is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will deal with any dispute. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the country where you live, and we do not impose United States law, court, or arbitration on you.
