Start playing Dragon Ball: Fusion World

Charge cards as Energy, play Battle Cards and use cards from hand to combo during combat. Fusion World keeps Dragon Ball’s transformations and power swings in a direct two-player system.

Choose Fusion World—not Masters—for the clearest modern Dragon Ball starting point.

01 · The basics

Know what you are trying to do

The objective

Attack the opposing Leader, combo cards from hand to change battle power and remove all eight of the opponent’s Life cards.

Ways the game ends

  • Remove the opponent’s final Life card through damage.
  • Your opponent cannot draw a required card from their deck.

02 · What to buy

Start with one complete experience

A legal, balanced starting point teaches more than a handful of random products.

Best first purchase

Two Fusion World Starter Decks

Each Starter Deck is built around one Leader and includes a ready 51-card deck, play sheet, rule material and Energy Marker. Make sure the box says Fusion World.

Your night-one checklist

  • One Fusion World Starter Deck per player
  • The included Leaders, Energy Markers and play sheets
  • Counters or dice for temporary power changes

Skip for now: Do not mix Fusion World and Masters cards. They are separate games with different card pools, products and rules despite sharing the Dragon Ball Super Card Game name.

03 · First match

Set up, take a turn, then play

Keep the first game open-handed. Explain each choice as it happens; save edge cases for match two.

Set up the table

  1. 01

    Reveal Leaders

Place both Leaders face up, place the shuffled 50-card decks and randomly choose the first player.

  2. 02

    Draw six

Each player draws six cards and may take one full redraw by returning that hand and drawing six again.

  3. 03

    Set eight Life

Place eight cards face down in the Life area. The second player begins with the Energy Marker advantage.

What a turn feels like

  1. 01

    Charge phase

Return cards to Active Mode, draw and place a card from hand into Energy if you choose.

  2. 02

    Main phase

Rest Energy to play Battle Cards and activate skills. Attack with active Leaders and Battle Cards.

  3. 03

    Combo and end

During battle, both players can use combo power from cards. Resolve damage, then continue actions or end the turn.

Your first-night plan

  1. 01

    0–10 minutes

Confirm both products say Fusion World, identify Leader, Energy, Battle and Combo areas, then practise one attack.

  2. 02

    10–30 minutes

Play open-handed and announce base power, combo additions and final power for every battle.

  3. 03

    After the game

Replay the same matchup with hidden hands. Focus on which cards were better as Energy and which were worth saving to combo.

04 · Go further

Build confidence before complexity

  1. 01

    Play the digital version

The official Windows game follows the physical Fusion World rules and is free to start, with optional purchases.

  2. 02

    Stay with one Leader

Learn when that Leader Awakens and what its colour wants to do before adding boosters or changing archetype.

  3. 03

Common first questions

Fusion World or Masters?

Fusion World is the more intuitive modern starting point and has an official digital version. Masters is a separate, deeper game with its own products and rules.

Can any card become Energy?

Yes. Choosing which card to charge is a central decision because it leaves your hand and becomes a reusable resource.

Are physical and digital collections linked?

Selected physical products include single-use codes for digital items, but the digital reward may differ from the physical card.
