What bulk is valuable?
Every binder has a supporting cast
Bulk is the ordinary, widely available stuff that fills packs, decks and the box under your bed. Useful, lovable, usually not your retirement plan.
We give reviewed ordinary non-holo cards a fixed 3p value, and ordinary reverse holos a fixed 5p value. That includes ordinary Rare reverse holos. These values replace a market chart for those exact raw printings.
Some commons have tournament jobs
A card that finds the right Pokémon, draws cards or makes a deck work can be in demand even when its rarity says Common or Uncommon. Players often need several copies.
If that exact printing keeps selling for £1.50 or £2.50, calling it 5p bulk misses the point. Repeated sales and current demand matter. A single expensive listing does not.
Decks change. Formats rotate. Reprints arrive. We check current playability when we review these cards, rather than treating yesterday’s staple as a permanent exception.
Some commons just have fans
Favourite Pokémon, distinctive artwork and harder-to-find finishes can make an ordinary-looking card desirable. The exact printing matters: a reverse holo can have a different market from the non-holo card beside it.
Poké Ball and Master Ball patterns, stamps, special treatments and ex cards keep their individual pricing. We also protect ordinary-looking printings when their sales show that people repeatedly pay more for them.
Cards worth a second look
These exact printings showed repeated sales in our 8 October 2026 review. The figures below describe that review. Open each card for its current individual price. Conditions vary; these medians show recorded demand, not a near-mint price quote.
Journey Together · 117 · Reverse holo
54 qualifying recorded raw sales in the previous 90 days, with a £2.02 median. Across the recorded history, 28 sales exceeded £2 and 16 reached at least £3.50.
Lost Thunder · 080 · Non-holo
112 qualifying recorded raw sales in the previous 90 days, with a £2.06 median. Across the recorded history, 86 sales exceeded £2 and 11 reached at least £3.50.
Lost Thunder · 152 · Non-holo
150 qualifying recorded raw sales in the previous 90 days, with a £2.22 median. Across the recorded history, 136 sales exceeded £2 and nine reached at least £3.50.
Ascended Heroes · 198 · Reverse holo
86 qualifying recorded raw sales in the previous 90 days, with a £1.63 median. Across the recorded history, 18 sales exceeded £2 and five reached at least £3.50. Demand can matter below £2, too.
The pile does not set the price
We look for repeated sales of the same card, in the same language and finish. We check the dates and remove mismatches such as bundles, graded copies and special versions. Recent, sustained demand is stronger evidence than one unusually high sale.
A shop’s minimum single-card price can include the work of finding, packing and selling it. A 30p retail listing alone does not make a card valuable. Equally, real demand should not disappear just because a card has a circle or diamond on it.
Check the card, not just the pile.
Match the set, number and finish. One shiny detail can change the answer.
